To World of Awe

Wind can whistle and howl. When the sound of wind has a strong 'pitch center' it can sound eerily human. It's a musical sound. The wind pervades the Sunset/Sunrise. It conveys the desolation that inhabits the desert landscape. The music created from this sound places a human being, a solitary traveler, in the empty landscape. The peculiar quality of the wind sound is a result of the randomness of peaks in volume and pitch. The piece takes advantage of this characteristic to blur the transition between the randomness of the natural sound and the orderliness of the musical theme that grows out from it. The wind takes on the shape of the melodic theme that fully develops in the composition Yours Forever. Halfway through the human voice is introduced, singing that theme at a distance.
